My Philosophy

I believe that yoga is for everyone and that we can try it at any time in our lives. Although many of us  associate yoga with the physical movement, known as the asana, it's not only about making beautiful shapes. It’s about connecting movement with breath - a union, which is the meaning of yoga in Sanskrit.

In my teaching I fuse the dynamic and slower movements together, incorporating moments of complete stillness - but with a continual focus on breath and individualism, knowing that not every skeletal body is the same. It’s through this simultaneous connection of movement and breath that our yoga practice can become a moving meditation.

Yoga offers us an opportunity to gaze inwards, to find out more about ourselves - to turn negatives into positives, from disturbed to peaceful, to find clarity and calmness. Through yoga we can create an awareness of who we are and what it feels like to be alive - to get out of our minds and feel into our bodies.

Why I teach

I teach because I want to share my revelation of yoga and how it has quite literally at times rescued both my physical and mental wellbeing.

It’s a tool that I can tap into whenever I need to. It provides a safe space where we all get to be ourselves and can unite, where experiences and knowledge can be shared and where maybe friendships can form.
